REASONS FOR RENEWAL
At the time of renewal of the residence permit, the Police Headquarters must take into consideration the existence of any crimes impeding the renewal of the title. In any case, the refusal to renew the document is not considered legitimate if the Police Headquarters has not produced an assessment on the topicality and concreteness of any social danger in the event of impedimental convictions and without having taken due account of the family situation , the existence of links with the country of origin, the seniority of the presence in Italy, in the case of holders of residence permits for subordinate work who have carried out family reunification.
The impedimental reasons for renewal are attributable to the danger to public order and state security (also for Schengen area states). And then again the presence of convictions, not necessarily sentenced, for one of the crimes provided for in articles 380 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the CPP, and for crimes related to drugs, sexual freedom, the facilitation of illegal immigration, prostitution, exploitation of minors. Finally, the final sentences for the violation of copyright rules are impeding.
